Expert Forensic Social Worker:

Elizabeth graduated from Columbia University in 1999 with her Masters of Science in Social Work, Clinical Tract and specialization in Forensic Social Work. Elizabeth spent the first several years of her career as a Forensic Social Worker in New York City with a focus on trauma, substance use, anxiety, interpersonal violence and severe and persistent mental illness. Elizabeth was employed at The Legal Aid Society Criminal Defense Division in Brooklyn, while providing consultation, pre-pleading and pre-sentencing services to the courts and private attorneys. In order to branch out to Family Court and Capital cases, Elizabeth founded her own company, Forensic Social Work Services, and simultaneously joined a group forensic private practice with a focus on therapy with court-mandated individual, couples and families.

Upon transplanting to California, Elizabeth continued to work in forensics and advanced her knowledge with severely mentally ill clients who were deemed Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGI), Mentally Disordered Offenders (MDO), and Mentally Disordered Sex Offenders (MDSO).

Elizabeth was granted LPS designation in Los Angeles County and was often referred clients to evaluate for 5150 criteria as a Danger to Self, Danger to Others, or Gravely Disabled.

With over 15 years of service in the Emergency Department, Elizabeth is well versed in medical chart review, safe discharge planning, and legal mandates within the medical community.

Elizabeth has been honored to provide verbal and written expert witness testimony in the states of New York, California and Utah in Family, Federal, Criminal and Civil court settings. Elizabeth is available to serve either the defense or prosecution without bias and available to travel as needed.
